Lisbon Airport is close to the city, but there are several ways to get from the terminal to your hotel. Each has its place.
Metro
The airport has a metro station on the Red line. It is cheap and avoids traffic, but you will carry your bags through stations, and you may need to change lines to reach your hotel.
Taxi
Official taxis wait outside arrivals. They are convenient if you have no booking; expect a queue at peak times, and confirm the fare method before you set off.
Uber and Bolt
Ride-hailing works well in Lisbon, with marked pick-up points at the airport. Prices can rise at busy times, and you may wait for a driver when many flights land together.
Pre-booked private transfer
A driver waits at arrivals with your name, tracks your flight and takes you straight to your address. The price is agreed in advance. This is the least stressful option after a long flight, and suits families, groups and late-night arrivals.
How to decide
| Your situation | Best option |
|---|---|
| Solo, light luggage, budget | Metro |
| No booking, arriving off-peak | Taxi |
| Comfortable with apps | Uber or Bolt |
| Family, group, heavy bags, late arrival | Private transfer |
| Business trip with a tight schedule | Private transfer |
What to ask a transfer company
- Do you track my flight and adjust for delays?
- How long will the driver wait after landing?
- Is the price fixed and does it include tolls and waiting time?
- Can I get child seats?
- What is the cancellation policy?
