If you are in Lisbon for Web Summit (9–12 November 2026) and have a free day, a day trip is the best way to see more of Portugal without changing hotels. These all start and end in Lisbon and work well with a private tour, because you control the schedule and avoid public transport timetables.
Sintra and Cascais
Palaces, forests and coastline in a single day. Sintra’s hills are about 30 minutes from Lisbon, and Cascais is a short drive away on the coast. Typical stops include Pena Palace, the historic centre of Sintra, Cabo da Roca (the westernmost point of mainland Europe) and Cascais. See the Sintra and Cascais tour.
Óbidos, Nazaré and Batalha
A walled medieval village, a fishing town known for giant waves and a Gothic monastery on the Silver Coast. A long day, but easy by car. See the tour.
Évora
About an hour and a half from Lisbon, Évora is a UNESCO World Heritage city with a Roman temple, a cathedral and the Chapel of Bones. A good choice if you like history and wine country. See the Évora tour.
Arrábida and Sesimbra
South of the Tagus, the Arrábida Natural Park has turquoise water and winding mountain roads, plus Sesimbra’s seafood and Palmela’s castle. See the Setúbal district tour.
Fátima
One of the world’s major Catholic pilgrimage sites, around an hour and a half from Lisbon. See the Fátima tour or our religious tour via Santarém.
