Web Summit Lisbon

How to Get from Lisbon Airport to Web Summit (MEO Arena and FIL)

Web Summit Lisbon takes place from 9 to 12 November 2026 at the MEO Arena and FIL in Parque das Nações. The venues are close to the airport, but conference week changes how easy it is to get there. Here are your options, with the pros and cons of each.

1. Metro

Lisbon Airport has its own metro station on the Red line, and the line continues to Oriente, the station beside the venues. It is a few stops, it avoids road traffic and it is the most economical option. The trade-off is luggage: stairs, escalators and a crowded carriage are less pleasant with large bags, and you will walk from the station to your hotel or to the event.

2. Taxi

Taxis are available at the airport rank. The journey to Parque das Nações is short, but in conference week queues can be long and drivers may be in demand. Ask for a clear price or confirm that the meter will be used.

3. Ride-hailing

Apps such as Uber and Bolt operate in Lisbon. Pick-up points at the airport are marked, and surge pricing can apply when many people arrive at once. Expect to wait if several flights land together.

4. Private transfer

With a pre-booked private transfer a driver tracks your flight, waits at arrivals and takes you directly to your hotel or to the venue drop-off. This suits teams travelling together, executives with a tight schedule and anyone arriving late at night or with a lot of luggage. We use sedans for up to three passengers and vans for up to eight. You can tell us your flight number when you request a quote.

Which should you choose?

Option Best for Watch out for
Metro Light luggage, budget travel Crowds, stairs, walking at the end
Taxi Spontaneous arrivals Queues at peak times
Ride-hailing Short trips, app users Surge pricing, pick-up waits
Private transfer Groups, executives, late arrivals Needs to be booked in advance

Tips for conference week

  • Arrange your airport transport before you fly; do not rely on finding a car on arrival.
  • Share your flight number so the driver can track delays.
  • Allow extra time for the journey back to the airport on departure day; traffic and queues are heavier.
  • Keep the driver’s phone number or WhatsApp handy for pick-up details.
